Date for submission of letters to MK Council
I've just had a conversation with an adminstrator in MK Council.
If the date for the consideration of the Tesco application by the Development Control Committee is 21 May, the agenda for the meeting will be issued 5 days before this which would be 16 May. The planning officer's report on the application will be included in the agenda. This will be a lengthy report and will include a summary of written comments received. So, I think that in order to help the planner draft her report and incorporate the comments from the letters, in practice, she would have to receive them by 9 May.
Therefore, I think that it would be advisable to submit the majority of letters before the due date of 28 April. However, this will not prevent additional letters and comments being sent to the Council after this date. Also, when the agenda is published on the website, it will still be possible to submit further comments, when the planner's report has been read.
Of course, there is still a risk that the committee date will be delayed to the June date. However, it is best to assume that the date is 21 May for the submission of comments.
